My Kickstarter Project Update – KB Mount

As it was inevitable, the rate of backing of my Kickstarter campaign has slowed down over the past week. Today, however, we’ve been able to cross the threshold of $1000 in backings. That still leaves us with $2000 to go in 20 days. It’s doable, but I would need to get all the help I can have. So if you are interested in this project (a DSLR camera mount for Android smartphones), or are just happy to support me and my project with a small donation, please consider following the link above and give my Kickstarter project a push.

  1. Most of todays camera’s already have wifi to link to apps on devices, so what difference would this bring. Also in addition to an absolute dslr technology why would one add a device.

  2. First of all, as I’ve experienced it myself with many situations and devices, WiFi is very unreliable for file transfer. It is even more unreliable if you are trying to use it for live view and camera control. My mount uses a dedicated USB connection to the camera. It relies on Android apps such as DSLR Controller for its full functionality:

Furthermore, even if you do use WiFi for camera control, you can still avail of KB Mount. It’s just a “dumb” piece of hardware that is software/device neutral.
